Career

I have mix feelings when it comes to getting or finding a job in Singapore or Malaysia. There are pros and cons in regards to finding or getting a job in both countries. I am using jobstreet, indeed and linkedin to search for career opportunities.

I am aiming to find a creative job in either countries, Fashion Styling or Marketing (Digital Marketing preferably)

However here are some of my list of pros and cons;

Pros in Singapore

The SGD Currency is stronger than Malaysian MYR

Convenient transportation

Lived here for 3 years almost 4 years during my studies

Basics 2500 SGD

Cons in Singapore

Hard to find a job being a foreigner (Even if I am their Malaysian neighbor)

Housing or living expenses is expensive

Financially independent

Definitely in Malaysia would have a bigger chance for me to work as a fashion stylist/marketer in magazines like Cleo, Cosmopolitan or Female etc. but there are few things I need to consider such as the list below;

Pros in Malaysia

Not financially independent

Free living cost

Affordable living expenses

Easy to find a job here, being a Malaysian

Cons in Malaysia

Not independent

Low salary

Transportation problem

Hard to save money

Basics 2500 MYR

There are equivalent list of pros and cons in both countries for me, therefore at the moment I am applying for jobs in both countries. Lets see how will that work out for me, preferably would love to find a job in Singapore to broaden up my experiences and the fashion scene in Singapore I would say it is better than Malaysia at the moment.
