Unexpected Visual Merchandising

March 24th, I met up with my Aunt who volunteers for Penan Women Project, and who happens to be one of the biggest distributor for PWP (and also Personal assistant for the founder)

We met up at Verdant Hill Hotel in Kuala Lumpur to talk more about the handwoven bags, however, she asked me to fix their visual merchandising in front of the hotel lobby because she felt something was missing.

Before:

And after I fixed their VM;

When I looked at their first VM, I knew something was missing because the combination did not look alluring as the colors were dull. I changed their VM and some passerby that most probably were staying in the hotel asked where to buy the bags but unfortunately the sale was not on till May. My aunt's colleague saw the VM and she told me that she did not even realize some of the bags when it was in storage room until I used it as one of the bags for VM (which she eventually went back to the storage and bought one - the bag on the right, on the shelf pink/orange/dark purple combination)

I played around with colors that day, even used some of the handwoven baskets at the back to market not only bags but the baskets as well.

It was indeed a great opportunity for me to help them with no profit at all, I will most definitely volunteer to work with them again for web designing & e-commerce.
