Monochromatic Stripes

A short and interesting story about my model for Styling #1 Bianca Quiroz, 19, a friend of mine who grew up in my own hometown which is Kuching, Sarawak or also known as Borneo. She was born in Kuching, but she is a Filipina, nationality wise.

What are the odds? I myself moved out from my own hometown to the Philippines when I was 12 due to my father's occupation in the oil industries and lived there till I was 16. Well safe to say, she knows more about Kuching more than I do because I move quite often with my parents.

Long story short, we met in Raffles College of Higher Education in Singapore 3 years back and the rest is history.

Today marks the first photoshoot I scheduled with Bianca, and the theme was "Edgy" while I styled her with matching striped top and bottom. Stripes are one of the trending fashion styles this year, and honestly, I have quite a lot of striped clothes in my wardrobe.

Here are some of the photographs I took and edited.

Pros & Cons:

1. I found it was difficult to use a new DSLR camera and I am not used to Nikon's functions yet. I was a Canon girl but I left it in Malaysia.

2. I had to figure out which adobe softwares to use for photo editing because I have been idle from college for a year as I deferred.

3. To find a location with good natural lighting was hard as well, during this photoshoot session there was about 80 photographs taken some was blurry and some photographs were dark because it was an underground carpark.

4. But I enjoyed editing photographs and picking out the outfit that the model should wear. As well as figuring out the suitable location for the particular outfit.

5. Last but not least, I get to style the model from hair and makeup to her outfit. I do have a little of an obsession with cosmetics as well as fashion.
